その昔、チリの名門ワイナリー
コンチャ・イ・トロには最高のワインを
貯蔵しておく特別な蔵があった。 しかし、そのワインのあまりの美味しさに
密かに盗み飲みをする者が後を絶たなかった。そこで、創立者のドン・メルチョーは
「この蔵には悪魔が棲んでいる」という噂を流した。 噂は炎のように広がり、人々を恐れさせ
その美酒を守ったという。この蔵はのちに“悪魔の蔵”と呼ばれ今もなお
大切なワインが静かに貯蔵されている「カッシェロ・デル・ディアブロ」とは、
スペイン語で“悪魔の蔵”を意味する。

Casillero del Diablo. Premium Chilean wine protected by the devil
Long ago, Chile’s prestigious winery Concha y Toro had a special cellar where the best wines were stored. However, the wine was so delicious that there was no end to people who would secretly drink it. So the founder, Don Melchor, spread a rumor that “the devil lives in this cellar.” The rumor spread like a flame, frightening people and protecting the fine wine. This cellar was later called the “Devil’s Cellar” and even today, precious wines are quietly stored there. “Casillero del Diablo” means “Devil’s Cellar” in Spanish.
